The 362nd District Court dropped a lawsuit filed against Denton County, Texas by former Deputy Kevin Bragg. The lawsuit came about after Bragg was not deputized during former Sheriff Benny Parkey’s administration. Bragg’s suit alleges that he was singled out after he reported alleged wrongdoings committed within the department. Bragg also claims that his reputation suffered after Parkey’s administration allegedly covered up the wrongdoings. Bragg blames the incident on his inability to find employment within the law enforcement field.
The lawsuit was at first filed against numerous parties, but after time, named Denton County as a whole. It has not been made public why the decision to drop the suit was made. Attorney Bob Davis, representing Denton, went on record saying that he is pleased with the decision.
