Originally from the Rio Grande Valley, Liza decided to return home upon completing law school in 1996 from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. She is also a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a double major in Government and History.

After graduating law school, she joined Roerig, Oliveira & Fisher, L.L.P. as an associate and became a partner 5 1/2 years later. She has now been part of Roerig, Oliveira & Fisher, LLP for 25 years. Liza is bilingual and practices in personal injury defense, general negligence defense, construction defense and employment law. She has been an active trial lawyer trying anywhere between 3 and 6 cases a year.

She is a member of the Hidalgo County Bar Association, Cameron County Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute. She is a past member of the Hidalgo County Young Lawyers Association and previously served as a Board member for both the Hidalgo County Bar Association and the Hidalgo County Young Lawyers Association. Liza is also active in other community activities including having served on the Edinburg Boys & Girls Club Board, St. John’s Episcopal Day School Board and keeping active within her church.  Her greatest achievement is being a mother to her three children, Joseph, Christian and Faith.
